My Morning Routine - Summer Days

If you follow me on Snapchat, you know I'm always excited to wash my face. With my music blasting, and me just in the zone, using and loving my skin products The secret life of a skincare blogger, I get pretty excited!

My morning routine compared to my Summer Evening Routine, is much simpler and takes me less than 5 min. Okay let me say 5  to 10 min. My night time routine is pretty intense, so in the mornings, especially in the summer, it's usually just to remove overnight products from my face and just treat, brighten and maintain my skin tone through out the day. You know this SUN is no joke! the other day it was 93 degrees. I refused to go outside!

Anyway, the infographic below lays out the steps I take in the morning with the products I am currently using this summer. There are particular reasons why I use these products and thats because they have glow, brightening properties, which is very much needed in the summer time. Great Results I Tell YOU!

Step 1
Wash my face with a cleanser
In the morning, I chose to use a brightening cleanser with beads to lightly exfoliate my face because of the product I apply to bed (As seen in my evening routine). I use Aveeno because in the past it has really helped to clear and brighten my skin. I like the feel of the light exfoliation in the morning, it really wakes me up.

Step 2
Roll the ice all over my face
 I have read that over time the ice roller reduces wrinkles and blemishes, but what I love to use it for is to massage my face in the morning while tightening up my pores. When you tighten your pores, it closes it and reduces the chances of oil and dirt getting there to form a pimple. This also reduces puffiness and redness when I have sensitive skin, and allows my face appear smoother when I apply make up.

Step 3
Apply Toner
I recently fell in love with the Pixi Glow Tonic because it makes my face feel tight and it exfoliates while removing impurities in your skin. I soak a little into a cotton pad and wipe all over my face focusing on my acne prone spots. This helps to do a deeper cleanse into my pores.

Step 4
Press the serum into my face
 I added the Murad lightening spot serum to my morning routine because I want to get rid of the dark spots I have caused by acne. Since this product has lightening agents, I use it every morning. I take 3 pumps in my hand, rub it together and press it in into my face. I never rub it in always press. This allows it to sink in deep and then I wait for it to dry, before applying a moisturizer.

Step 5
Apply moisturizer
 I love this Murad hydro moisturizer because it hydrates my skin and  enhances the texture. It sinks in quickly into my skin and doesn't shift or mess up my make up when I apply it. You don't even need a lot, a tad bit goes a long way. Since the toner and exfoliator dries the skin, this helps to balance the moisture level, leaving your skin nice, glowy and healthy looking.

Step 6
Sunscreen is a MUST
 Even though I get lazy to apply sunscreen on my body, but for my face, This is a must!! It took me a while to find the right sunscreen for my face that wouldn't give white residue, make my skin look too dewy or just make my make up slide. The La Roche - Posay is an awesome brand and sunscreen to use. Sits well on my skin, absorbs fast and funny enough gives my skin a silky look.

So there it is, my morning routine. I am totally in love with the results. I barely wear make up for the most part and my face has a lovely glow.

Mask Monday -007

MASK: Shea Lip Mask by Sephora

What it is: A leave on lip mask made to replenish, nourish, and moisturize lips in as little as 15 minutes.

Main ingredients: Shea Butter: Soothes and hydrates.

What it claims: Infused with power natural ingredients, these sheet masks work to provide younger looking lips. It contains shea butter, which protect and repair the lips.

Texture: It feels like paper filled with serum. Too hard and doesn't sit well on my lips. I had to hold it in place quite a few times.

How to use it: After scrubbing your lips, remove the lip patch from the film, apply it over the lips and let it sit there for 15 - 20 minutes. When you remove it, don't wipe off, let the remaining serum absorb into the lips.

Purchased at: Sephora $3

Result: Once I was done, I felt my lips were much softer and smoother. I gave it about an hour after, and my lips remained hydrated. I did notice after the serum had dried up, it felt sticky. I didn't like the sticky feeling at all.

I didn't like the way it fit on my lips and the stickiness afterwards, so therefore, I will not be purchasing this again.

But if you are looking for a quick short term fix for hydration and softness, you can buy this.

Have you tried this Shea lip mask before? Let me know what you think of it.

Thanks for reading my blog post!

Peace, love & GLOW!

The Best Way to Remove Your Makeup COMPLETELY!

Unfortunately for us, some good things always have to come to an end...
In this case, the joy of wearing makeup ends when you have to wash it off by the end of day. I get it washing your face can be a hassle, but trust me it is totally worth it. Sleeping with makeup brings no good news. The makeup mixes with oil, sweat and dirt, clogs your pores which allows acne causing bacteria to spread and cause blemishes to erupt. Sleeping in your makeup also causes dehydration to your skin leaving it dry and cracked.

If you are like me, I always wipe off my makeup before I wash my face. I realized that when I don't do this, my foundation runs and stains everywhere and also, there is always residue on my face towel, even after cleansing.

Before I wash my face, there are a few things, listed below, I do that can help you get all the makeup out, clean your pores and get you ready for a good face wash;

If you have on light make up, maybe just a concealer, or minimal makeup, you can use;

Micellar Cleansing water

If you have on full make up, I will suggest you remove your make up with;

Make up remover cleansing wipes or baby wipes

Moisturizing cleansers

Oil Cleaner

Removing mascara, eyeliner and eye shadow can be very hard if you only wash your face. You have to find the right oil based products to help you lift the eye liner and make it easier to wipe off; Here are some helpful suggestions;

Waterproof eye make up remover

Oils that break down the eyeliner;  (Can all be found at any grocery store)
Coconut oil,
Olive oil
Jojoba oil

Lipsticks and Lip stains has to be removed with something that leaves moisture on the lips, if not the lips would start cracking and dry up.

Petroleum Jelly

Oils (Can all be found at any grocery store)
Coconut oil,
Olive oil

Micellar Cleansing water
Lip Scrub
Pair up a lip scrub with a lip conditioner
