How to use: Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay

Everyone who follows me on snapchat knows how much I love my facemasks, I have a solo party in my bathroom while using products that were highly recommended or had great ratings. I do a lot of research on masks before I buy them.  After the struggle I had with acne, I am still on the pursuit to fresh, glowing, even-skin tone.

One highly recommended product I have been getting emails about is the AZTEC SECRET Indian Healing Clay also known as the Worlds Most Powerful facial for deep cleansing of the pores.

The first time I used it was the day after I spent all day at a water park, under the blazing hot sun. I needed a facial really bad.

Now let me tell you the Aztec Secret mask does great wonders. I mixed the Aztec Secret clay powder with water and apple cider vinegar, until it became a thick paste, I rubbed it all over my face and neck. The box says you should let it dry for about 20 minutes before rinsing off. After 20 minutes on my face, I still had some wet patches so I let it sit for another 10 min, making it 30 min in total.

When this product starts to dry up, you can feel a tingle and the tightness and it pulsates. Making you know something is definitely working. This product gets very tight as it dries, so tight that you can barely move your lips or eyebrows. But then it’s sucking all the oils in your pores which limits bacteria from forming. I will advice not to laugh or stretch for face while the mask is on because you might damage your pores.

When it was time to rinse of, I jumped into the shower, because I figured it will be too messy in my sink and might clog my sink pipes if it isn’t flushed down with lots of water. Once water touches it, it starts to melt off your face. It easily comes off.

After rinsing off, I splashed cold water on my face to close my pores and then pad dry with a towel. Then I use vitamin C serum and my Vitamin E night cream to get that nice glow by morning time.

I notice a difference in my skin after my first use. I noticed my acne reduced in size tremendously, some even vanished. My skin felt smoother and softer, and it eased the pain from cyst acne.

Recommendation

- Aztec Secret is an easy mask to make.
- If you have oily or acne prone skin, use this mask twice or three times a week.
- It’s great for clearing your skin to reveal brighter skin.
- You can use it for acne spot treatment.
- It improves skin clarity.
- It’s cheap and very effective. It cost about $10.
- A little goes a long way, so it will last you a long time.

Final Thoughts

I have used this mask three times in the past week, and I am very impressed by the results so far. I love it. I noticed a difference after just one use. In one week, my skin looks clearer.  I plan to add it to my weekly masking routine for the whole summer. I can only imagine the awesome results in the next month.

If you are looking for a new face mask to try and want to purchase this product, its available on amazon, here. It’s worth every dollar.

Hope you find this helpful and useful. If you give this mask a try, keep me posted on your results – I think you’ll be pleasantly happy with the results.

My Lantern Festival Experience!

So this past weekend, I went to the Lantern Festival that was held in Philadelphia with my sister. It was the most magical experience I have ever had. The lanterns in the sky, the day time activities, the crowd, the event crew, everything was just on point!

Buying the Tickets
I bought it in January even though the event was in June. They had an early bird special, so I got two tickets for about $70 without even knowing who my +1 was. It was a bit cheaper, got it on evenbrite and had the tickets in my email, so I didn't have to print anything.

Planning my Trip
I didn't start planning the trip until 2 weeks to the event. I like things to go as I imagine and stress free, so I like to be fully prepared. I ended up gifting the ticket to my sister for her lil graduation gift, and that was the best decision ever because we had a blast together, from jamming to all our favorite and throwback songs on the road trip to having a blast at the festival. We had snacks, water, a blanket, mosquito/ bug repellant, sunscreen, cocktails, sandwiches, pillows, an umbrella for the sun, and a camping chair.

Getting there / Finding a spot
It took us about 2.5 hours to get there. we got there at 5pm and it was just the perfect time. It was in Philly but in the woods, so thank god for google maps lol. The event planners did a fantastic job with making it easy to park, getting your hand bands when you got there and finding a spot to sit. The space was big, but there were thousands of people. We found a little spot in the front, where we camped out. We had our blanket and chair well set up, just as we planned and we were comfortable. The stage was directly in-front of us, so we could watch all the performers and rocked out with the DJ.
While waiting for the Sun to go down
The event planners also did a great job with entertaining us with performers, games, a good DJ that played all genres of music and an MC that kept the crowd engaged. My sister and I took lots of pictures, decorated our lantern, made cocktails, drank and was merry! We really just wanted to chill out, relax and just enjoy being outdoor, we definitely partied with the DJ. Later we lit up the fire bucket and made s'mores. My sister ate it, but I just couldn't bring myself to eating it. It just didn't look like I would like it. My sister loved it! Then at 9:30pm that was when the magic happened.  We start to light up the lanterns.

The Lantern Experience
I had watched videos and seen pictures, but I tell you the realness cannot be seen in them. It was the most surreal thing. It was BEAUTIFUL and emotional. I felt the presence of something bigger. On my lantern, I wrote a prayer to God and also a list of things I was letting go from my life and Things I was praying to God to add to my life. Lightening up that lantern and watching it float away was very emotional for me. I felt stronger, free, happy and just amazed by the experience. The even more amazing part was I went to church the next day, and the message the pastor was preaching kept emphasizing on;
 God has heard you and He has answered you. You have to be ready to receive the blessing God is about to send your way!
 I was filled with joy and happiness when I heard that and said a big AMEN! I took a lot of pictures and videos and shared it on my personal instagram page @modiva007. Check them out there.

I recommend this event to everyone. It is an experience you need to see for yourself at least one time in your life. If you get a chance to attend, go with a friend, lover or just simply gift someone with a ticket. They would truly appreciate the experience.

Skincare Tip
Just to throw in a quick skincare tip, since we are a skincare blog; Make sure you take a Bug Off spray and sunscreen. you will be directly under the sun for a while and there are a lot of bugs as it's an open field with grass. So here are the two things I used and they did a good job because I had no tan lines or bug bites. ;)

Heres a quick video:

The Best Way to Pop a Pimple without Scarring it

Unfortunately popping a pimple is a bad habit we all have. I mean imagine having an unwanted thing on your face. Without even thinking about it, your finger is just drawn to it, ready to pick and flick it out off your face. But that habit has to be controlled, especially when it can cause serious damage to your face.

The best time to pop a pimple is when it has a white head, when all the puss in it has risen to the surface. if it's a cyst or cyst like bump, just give it time to erupt. Do not squeeze it... instead just walk away from the mirror and keep your hands and mind busy so it doesn't go to your face and you can distract yourself from thinking about it.

Squeezing and touching it can infect and inflame the tissue around the skin causing you to have a swollen, red bump that bleeds and then forms a scab over it, which makes it harder to cover it up. After a few days, you notice it has turned into a scar that then that takes months or even years to get rid of the scar marks. And we all know how hard it is to get rid of those black spots. I mean It's a constant battle getting rid of hyper pigmentation.

The best and correct way to pop a pimple so that you get no scars, no infection and you don't even need a dermatologist for it is by following the steps below;

Step One - Run Hot water on a clean wash cloth.

Step Two - Wring out the excess water in the wash cloth so it stops dripping.

Step Three - Place the wash cloth on the whitehead. While this opens up your pores, it brings all the puss to the surface. Keep the cloth on it until the washcloth cools off.

Step Four - Gently slide the wash cloth sideways, towards your ears. you should notice the whitehead sliding off with the wash cloth.

Step Five (if necessary) - If it didn't bring the white puss to the top, repeat the steps again. (Make sure its a white head before you try to pop it).

Step Six - Once you remove the whitehead, rinse your face with cold water to close your pores and pat dry with a clean dry wash cloth.

Step Seven - Apply an antibacterial cream such as benzoylperoxide cream, tee tree oil or any blemish treatment you like, and let the pimple dry out completely.

And VOILA, You successfully popped your pimple without a scar, blood, or anything that will damage your skin. Very easy steps that work well if you get it right.

Shining Through with Queen Helene's Cocoa Butter | SFD Review

My skin is like a moisture sucker. When i use lotion, it absorbs it so fast that after a few hours I need to reapply or else I start looking ashy AF. Having really dry skin can be frustrating at times, it's hard to find body lotions that can moisturize / hydrate your skin for the whole day. So I started using creams instead; they are thicker.

With that said, let me introduce you to this body cream, I have been using and it actually hydrates my skin for the whole day. YES! it works well...
It's called:

Before & After

Earlier this year I visited my friend in San Francisco, and her skin just looked super healthy and hydrated, I had to ask her for her secret and she says;
"I have been using this cocoa butter creme and it just makes my skin glow."
I was intrigued and said;
"well im here for about 5 days, I will try it out and see if I see a glow or difference in my skin."
To my amazement.... by day two I saw a difference;
1 - I didn't have to reapply it. My skin was moisturized the whole day...and it rained, but stayed moisturized.
2 - my skin had a nice hue... a cool glow to it. it looked healthy even in pictures.
She saw how much I loved it and got me one to take home! How nice of her right... love you JUJU 💋

Firstly, it's thick but it melts when the heat between your palms rub it together. A little goes a long way, so gently massage it into your skin as you rub it in. The smell has that cocoa butter smell but it isn't as strong as the palmers brand and it fades after a while. I am particularly fond of the dewy glow it gives my skin after I rub it in.

Although it says face and body, I will never use it on my face... I repeat NEVER! I cannot imagine putting that thickness on my face! It will definitely clog my pores and cause a breakout episode, so I'm good, I'll skip on that. Also, I have only been using it in the cold months, I feel it will be too thick for the summer. Might make me sweat more and that can be uncomfortable. In the summer, I stick to lighter moisturizers and more sunscreen.

After a few months of using the cocoa butter cream by Queen Helene, it's safe to say that my skin is softer, smoother, & it penetrates deep into hydrate cracked dry skin. I didn't notice much difference in strechmarks, but I also didn't get any new ones, so maybe it helped to prevent it. Again most products like this have to be used for years to see results of faded stretch marks. It also helped my feet; it moisturized the cracks and lines in my heels, ohh and the best part it is very inexpensive. my friend got it for $6.99 SAY WATTTT!! Yep you read it right, very inexpensive. If you have sensitive skin, I would advise you not to use it because it contains alcohol that might irritate the skin.
Amazon is $8.99 but in store is $6.99
Is it worth the buy? Totally! It works promptly, you get instant gratification and the price is great for my pocket! Definitely worth the try if you have dry skin or cracked skin and are looking for instant relief. I highly recommend that you give Queen Helene's Cocoa Butter a try. I think you’ll love it.
